What is the vision for RE?
At Minworth Junior and Infant School, our R.E. curriculum balances the 24 dispositions outlined in the Birmingham Agreed Syllabus, with the acquisition of knowledge regarding different religious beliefs, traditions and festivals.
It is brought to life with an additional weekly RE Lesson, to ensure children are taught about different faiths and religions. By teaching children about religion, they are able to thoughtfully and knowledgeably discuss the agreed dispositions. Using artefacts, celebrations of festivals and religious trips, where appropriate, only further enrich lessons.
How do we ensure it?
Our RE approach enhances the children’s understanding and tolerance of different religions, faiths and British values. Children leave us as open minded, understanding and responsible young citizens who are respectful to all and confident in what they believe in themselves.
