Parent View
The views of parents are integral to our development and improvement as a school. To this end, we send out annual surveys to all parents of children at school where we seek to gather their opinions as to our strengths and areas for further improvement.
These is the analysis and comments made by parents during our November parent survey.
We asked our parents what they ‘treasured’ about Minworth School. This is what they said:
-
The dedication to each child.
-
It is very easy to speak to teachers and they deal with everything well.
-
The communication is good.
-
The family feel - you don’t feel your child is just a number.
-
All the staff take time to get to know your child as an individual and on a personal level. Even the head teacher knows my child by name and knows a lot about them.
-
There is a strong sense of community, their core values shine through and my child is happy.
-
Regular updates and creativity.
-
The teaching staff.
-
The culture at school and relationships between staff and children.
-
I love the school for both children; they are really happy here, and staff are all lovely!
-
There is good pupil support throughout school.
-
It is a lovely environment for all children to learn and excel in.
-
The teachers and all staff are family to my children and I 100% could not have chosen a better school for my children.
-
The varied opportunities available.

All children are welcomed into a nurturing environment,
-
The children are praised well and given reasonable targets.

Friendly. I love the atmosphere and that everyone works together to ensure my children reach their full potential.

The Jigsaw System which focuses on children’s social and behavioural qualities – not just academic.

The amazing staff. The teachers, make Minworth special.

It is a lovely, small school with a close community.

The understanding of children and how they have made my child feel very welcome. My child now loves coming to school.

Staff, who have been here for a long time, have a positive bond with my child and make them feel special.

The way the teachers treat the children, it as if they are family and that is precious.

The support and praise the children receive.

I love how small the school is. It means that pupils and teachers know one another.
-
The staff are personable and approachable. It is a fun environment. My children are happy here.
-
As a result of us relocating, my child has moved to many schools. This school has really brought out their personality and confidence. They love coming to school and learning more than ever. They love the after school art/craft club, previous schools hadn’t offered this.
-
Minworth is like a second family, they always look after their students.
-
The memories they get to make.
-
How cared they are and the community feel. How well behaved the children are and there is a good ethos.
-
The school has been a foundation for all my children and I would like it to remain that way.
-
I like that all the teachers, from the head teacher to the class teacher, are fully involved in my child’s education, their needs and collectively make an effort to develop their strengths.
These are some of our parents suggestions of what we could 'Tweak':
- It is lovely as it is.
- More parent and child workshops.
- More photo updates.
- More updates on child’s progress on Arbor aside from parent’s evening.
- Other ways to communicate outide of Parent's Evening.
- I can’t think of anything!
- Dinners – less pork and more vegetarian offers, include Halal meals.
- More trips and opportunities to learn outside of the classroom.
- The different subjects and months, e.g. Black History to add to real experiences.
- More homework for the holidays.
- Longer break times, for football (requested by my child).
- Slightly more support for children who are high achieving, but could do with more direction to reach the higher level, especially Send. However, this is very minor overall the school is very supportive.
- More recognition for children who achieve consistently.
- Nothing - stay as you are!
- Maybe a little more art to make things more creative.
